Welcome to the '90s. Our journey through the music of the last 40 years continues — this time, we land in the '90s: the decade of the Information Age. That's right; World Wide Web launches at the beginning of the decade and changes our lives forever. Seinfeld and Friends are massive TV hits, modern cartoon like The Simpsons show that adults can fall in love with animation.
The '90s playlist - ten years changed music forever
We get the best of both worlds with this '90s playlist. On one side, we get to hear songs that helped shape this decade — for some of us, that helped shape their adolescence; on the other hand, we still get to see some of these bands live today. Such is the case of Damon Albarn — the musical genius that has brought us the band Blur (among others, we know, but these are the '90s). Then, there's more rock and electronic fused with the revolutionary "Loaded" from Screamadelica, the masterpiece from Primal Scream.
On this list, there's also the psychedelic sounds of Spiritualized, some trip-hop sounds from Massive Attack or Portishead and a little trip to Seattle with a couple of bands from the grunge movement, Pearl Jam and Nirvana. The always inventive Bjork and the one and only David Bowie wrap this playlist that is also a trip to memory lane.
